Nuance NTS is not laying off people per se, they are just now forcing out an entire layer of quality control people with a good chunk of primary medical transcriptionists by changing production criteria to levels that are almost impossible to meet. A huge number of people have been forced out over the last month (I have no actual numbers) with many more quitting in the next few weeks. These are "at will" employees and there is no requirement for notice, at least not in the traditional sense. The supposition is that these lost positions are destined for India.

There were cuts in the Healthcare Division and Dragon. I heard the 200 number from a reliable source - not sure how that works without a WARN notice. They have been ramping up their office in Pune, India. Sending more and more jobs over there. When one guy was laid off they asked him to make sure his work was documented so the Pune office could take it over.

I heard the same, layoffs today (I left in 2009)... There is no reference to it on the web. I searched through WARN notices as well, there is no reference to it. If they cut, it had to be less than 50 as there is no WARN notice.
