I actually think working here is great. I guess I just work in the right department, but I see a lot of employees taking advanatge of the gym, cafeteria, Starbucks, onsite doctor, etc. Two bonuses within a month or so of each! Even if I would get laid off I would feel the same. This is a business that has ups and downs and job lose. If you can't handle that then you need to find a job that has less. I have worked for a few oil companies over the last 30 years, and believe me it can be a lot worse. If you are good at what you do then you will find work. You might get bumped here and there, but if have great skills you will make it. For now feel lucky you have a job, and can work for a company like APC. When times get better you can move on just like anyone else. I always find that the complainers don't have the guts or what it takes to step out and find something else. If you do have the guts then move on when you get a chance. It is just that simple in a free society.

You're right We can leave but some of us are too close to retirement or trapped because we can't find a comparable job or we would have to commute a long distance across town. It's really sad though to see what's happened to our company over the last few years. Great people have left in every department and have been replaced with substandard low quality people and that is from the very top job down! I miss the APC of 5 years ago when this company did have something special. Now it's a typical sweat shop where most people can't wait to find a way out - those that are happy here now are the incompetent complacent and lazy ! Just makes me very sad.
What I see is a lot of fat and happy people at apc.....who have gotten soft and lazy with good times. I too have worked for several oil corps and this one breeds excess and overspending for the frivolous things. Hunting lodges, new buildings, airplanes..... As with Enron and others who got arrogant and lazy.....apc's walls will tumble if not bought out.... And it needs to happen soon.
