Thread regarding Cameron International Corp. layoffs

A word of advice

The managers do not have much warning of who is going to go and who is going to stay. Cameron cut the fat a long time ago now they are cutting into the core employees. Fair or not it is what it is and it impacts all of us.

Things you need to do before you get laid off or even if you do not get hit by the lay off.

  1. The Cameron email addresses are for work only. I know all of us have some personal stuff on our Cameron emails. Either move these to your personal email or delete them.

  2. Your remuneration statements, paycheck info should be sent to your personal email. You will need this info later if you are laid off.

  3. Make sure you have your 401K, health insurance etc. login usernames and passwords stored on your personal computer. You will need all of this later also.

  4. Take your personal stuff home. Clean out your desk. Believe me once you have had your exit interview you will not feel much like hanging out at the desk.

Good luck to all of you still at Cameron. I wish you nothing but the best. To those who are no longer there I wish you the best of luck and happiness.

I started taking home my personal stuff a long time before being laid off.

Best decision.

I just knew it was coming.

And I didn't want my personal things in that place anymore anyway.

Now the cutbacks are lean setting the pace. Work at a swift pace to show your true worth. And catch up on your work. Just in the event they deside on further cuts. That way you don't leave the burden on the leaner version that's left behind trying to keep pace. Finally a companies reputation and ethics are hard to ignor. The actions and decisions made recently Layoffs & Terminations. Are the history and will not be soon forgotten. The possibility for a stable future is bleak at best. And will be a consideration of future talent.

Yes plus vacation you have not used. It will be made as one lump sum payment and taxes will be withheld as if it were a bonus.

Former Surface Employee, Glad to hear you have been able to move on. That is great! Hopefully all of the others that have been laid off have been able to move on also. You are right there is no "We" or "Team" in Cameron or corporate. We all have to take care of our selves and keep our ducks in a row. God luck to all.

I was laid off (Surface Division) a couple of months ago. The severance package was NOTHING to say the least. I am glad to note that I have found another job and moved on! Please look out for YOURSELF and your FAMILY. No matter what any one tells you, there is no "TEAM" or "WE" in the corporate world!! Good luck to all the folks laid off and all those who are still at Cameron.
