Done soon

Was told this morning HR coming in June 1st for benefits rollout but think we all know that will be the end of our SDO.

Do not entertain the thought of working for the courier guys! You are only working for that truck you are paying for, i.e. maintenance, fuel etc etc. You will have to have 15-25 mile route per day, deliver, 200-250 cartons per day to see profit, trust me it's not worth killing yourself for the company that put you out of work to begin with. The courier recruiters make it sound somewhat appealing but again please trust me. DO NOT be tricked into becoming an independent contractor. Don't even speak to their management. They have proven to be cocky, ignorant, back stabbing bastards that have taken conversations completely out of context and Staples associates severance/retention were placed in jeopardy. Word to the wise. I wise everyone the very, very best!!

Severance is 1 week pay for every year of service with the cap being 10 weeks. You will also get a retention bonus to stay till the close date... Retention bonus ranges depending on the closure target date from the time of announcemen.

Contractors pay well if you don't mind getting paid less than half of what you make now to do the same heavy lifting and also deliver various other company deliveries. Plus no benefits, no vacation/sick time or holiday pay... They really entice you to give it a try, but don't do it. You'll just be stuck with a vehicle you will undoubtedly sell once you quit after a month.

Good luck to everyone... Hope this helps.

We found out the day before one of our drivers walked in to HR to ask a question and was stopped at the door, he just happen to look over her shoulder to see large envelopes with names on the corner, that were our walking papers. Spread like wild fire..
