Just received an email from Chris Hardman, an EDMC spokesperson. According to Hardman "You are asking me about rumors, and we do not comment on rumors and speculation."

CK- how so? Students who start at a school going into teach out are guaranteed to be able to finish- classes will be held for them to complete the degree- just a matter of where, with what quality of faculty, etc.
It's not like the decision makers wake up one day and decide to make a brash decision like that on a whim... These types of things are often planned far in advance

@Anonymous95048, by not reporting already planned "teach outs" or closings as soon as possible, EDMC would be facing more legal issues in the long run. From what I gather, there have been some good teachers (and students) at the Art Institutes, but maybe that's all ancient history. Then again, we're talking about a company essentially owned by a corporation (KKR) that knows or cares little or nothing about education. CK- right, of course they will not label it as a leak, because then that would be a confirmation before they wanted to/planned to announce it. Like I said, they plan to start a few more classes at those campuses, and confirming that the info was a leak WILL hurt the bottom line, as many of those students would not start if they hear the news

I'm sorry for the mistaken headline. What I gather from Chris Hardman (EDMC) is that as long as there is no documentation, EDMC will frame it as "rumor" or "speculation" rather than a leak. If someone wants to send me an anonymous email telling me otherwise, it's not difficult. To the people who have this alleged information, you can save hundreds or thousands of peope some heartache by presenting the documentation. Below is the unaltered email exchange (with the exception of my bold printing of certain points and absurd statements) that I had with Dahn Shaulis, who wanted me to eliminate this very introduction. Evidently, I decided to keep it because it situated the exchange and, as he noted on several occasions, I was the editor (i.e., "gatekeeper"), while he was not. Indeed, I suggested he get off his ass and start his own literary journal so he could do whatever the hell he wanted and gain an understanding as to how much "work" it really took to create and edit a journal like The American Dissident.
Shaulis decided to advertise this page by sending out the following message with the page's URL: "Tod Slone, editor of the American Dissident, a racist and sexist? You decide.
Goes further to state:
Shaulis had initiated contact with me out of the blue by sending a copy of the email he'd sent to the Warden of the prison where he was formerly employed as a caseworker. The Warden did not want him to teach at the prison.
Shaulis didn't get it. Bennett College and Grambling State University did not want me to return to teach. That was understandable. After all, I was critical and they were institutions (HBCUs) closed to vigorous debate, cornerstone of democracy, despite appearances.
Is Dahn Shaulis, adjunct instructor in Criminal Justice at the College of Southern Nevada, both logic challenged, racism obsessed and PC indoctrinated?
