Thread regarding Office Depot Inc. layoffs

Stores are getting less inventory, employees hours / payroll down, everyone looking for new jobs and quitting (YIKES)

Stores getting less and less inventory, staffing hours / payroll severely down, employees leaving in hoards. Has anyone else seen this happening in their stores? It's a madhouse in our district many key players have left, are leaving, or working hard to find something else. I called a closing store the other day to get something, and I asked the kid on the phone if this was the closing store (I just wanted to make sure I had the right store) he said he hadn't heard anything but he only had been there a week. I'm seeing so many stores with such little product on the floor and being replenished. Staffing is down everywhere.

Staples does not want the stores it already has, they do not want another 1500. OD stores will be closed unless they are extremely profitable or in a better location than a Staples in the same area, with lower rent.

Do you really think your store is going to stay open after the buyout? They are just using this time to sell off old inventory and do enough business to cover costs.

You can't have increased sales and good customer service when there not enough employees on the floor to help the customers. From 4 to close we have 1 cashier 1 tect person 1 person in CPD and the manager as LOD and floor coverage.
