I'm buying the full amount for sure. At my age, time is more valuable than green paper.

Mr Craighead should step up and buy 80 hours.

There are some clueless dolts in BHI management if they think people will sign up to buy vacation days with their after tax pay. Asinine plan.

This is coming from Halliburton. Since Halliburton does not give you any sick days, they let you buy as many vacation days as you want. Deducted from your paycheck.

Email came out about an hour and a half ago. Seems to be clearly a prelude to non-voluntary furloughs. Can't imagine hardly anyone is gonna sign up for unpaid vacation.

So generous. How much do they expect to save with this attempt?

So generous. The savings must equate to pennies in the overall scheme of things. Is this what we've come to? Sad.....

There is a whole 2 page write up on it. PDF file. Search "vacation purchase". It is for the US. If you are non US, I guess it doesn't apply to you.

Leave the guy/girl alone. Throwing the word purchase in there is deceiving. One could almost argue that the meaning would be selling off remaining vacation days in some kind of buyout. Just saying

But pay payroll taxes on it. Forced furloughs are not taxed. So I'll wait until the mandatory "vacation". You would be a fool to participate in this just for the taxing alone.

How much more basic. You get a day off without pay. They call it vacation purchase. You don't come to work and you don't get paid. It will start out as a volunteer plan, but when the management team fails to get enough participants, then it will become mandatory thing. So instead of volunteering to stay home without pay, they will decide for you. The official announcement is coming today.
