The news is all the SDO's will be transitioned over to 3rd party. If you're working in one and a closure announcement hasn't been made yet, don't delude yourself into thinking you're safe, because it's only a matter of time - am talking a matter of months, not years. Start thinking NOW about what you need to do to make the transition - refinancing your mortgage, paying down any loans (especially any taken out on your 401k) as much as you can, seeing what job opportunities are available in your area via online searches, researching hiring processes of companies you are interested in working for, creating/refining your resume, strengthening personal contacts you have locally in terms of finding a new job. If you're thinking of buying a new car, a new house or making a large expenditure in the near future, you may want to wait. Start looking into alternative health insurance options (ACA) if you don't have the ability to transition onto a spouse's plan. Start beefing up your savings as much as you can now to provide a cushion. Good luck to all, god bless and remember: there is work out there. This situation sucks, but it's not the end of the world unless you make it so by being unprepared.
Dallas we are hearing that next week is our notice. We are ready for whatever let's just get it over and done with. ... looks like September we go third-party and could possibly work til November
All SDO's shut down by the end of the year. I know everyone saw this coming and hopefully everyone gets out ASAP. If you wait til the end you may have a little cash in your pocket but you will be competing with 50 others drivers for jobs.
