I took the Medical Assistant program. The way it worked was modules, each month there was a different module, so new students would come in every month and others would graduate each month depending on where they were on the module schedule. I went to class with about 45 throughout the entire 10 months.. I only know of 3 that got jobs as MA's. But like I said, most of the kids dicked around all day. I asked my friend who did the LVN class, she said that most of the students she graduated with did not take the license test and she can't think of any that actually work as an LVN. She said most work as CNA's now. I don't make a ton as an MA, but I make enough to pay my loans on time.

@Everest Grad, I'm glad that Everest worked for you--and that Everest, Wyotech, and Heald have worked for others. In your case, it's great that you have a supportive husband. Of your LVN classes, what percentage would you guess graduated and found gainful employment that was sufficient to pay off any loans that they may have had? Also, was there any way to discern why students chose Everest over the community college? I'm sure there were many reasons, including convenience of place and schedule.

LMFAO! The Everest "Grad" is an Everest employees if not the campus president. Nice way to try and spin social media....

I chose Everest because a friend was going there for the LVN program and she was happy with the school. It was close enough to my house and I could go at night when my husband was home from work. I could have gone to an ROP program or a community college but this was faster even if it was more expensive. And the community college wouldn't have worked around my or my husband's schedule. You get what you pay for, fast track is always more expensive.

I would rather not share my teacher's names...but one was a retired doctor and the other was a woman who had over 20 years experience in her field. I graduated about 4 years ago.

I will say that my friend DID finish her LVN program, but did not take the licensure test because she was nervous and didn't feel she would pass With the knowledge she had. She has a 40k debt in a career field she can't use now because she was afraid. I wonder how many of these situations are due to being afraid to put yourself out there and try. If I had never tried and never found a job, who knows I may blame Everest too because it's easier than facing the truth about yourself.

@Everest Grad, I'm not sure anyone has said every student fails. If they did, they are wrong. What year did you graduate? I also agree that hard work and thoughtfulness makes a difference. Why did you choose Everest over another school in the Anaheim area (e.g. a community college)? Also, would you please share with us the names of some of the Everest-Anaheim teachers who made a difference in your life? Do you stay in contact with them?

You're welcome and thank you. I just want to put it out there that not every school is bad, not every admissions rep is just out for the money and not every student fails. We now live in a "Cry-baby" society and when things are unfair and people stomp their feet and make a lot of noise they get a pacifier shoved in their mouths by our government and our media. And the burden is then laid upon the backs of hardworking people. I teach my kids every day that life isn't fair, don't expect more than what you put out there.

I hope that when layoffs do subside that the ones who are still left behind are there for the real purpose. To teach and educate our future.

Thank you, CCI, you helped me and you helped my family by providing me with an education I can still lean on.
