The Farmer and the Horse

The Farmer and the horses.

Where the farmer is the corporate boss and the horses are the employees.

In a land long ago and not so far away there lived a farmer who had a wonderful farm and ranch. He provided many much needed products and necessities to his fellow town folks and earned a very good living in the process.

As time passed the farmer became greedy and decided that he needed to make more money to start other farms so he could spread his business to neighboring counties.

In the process the farmer decided that his most costly expense was his horses. So in the interest of increasing profits to further his interests he sold one of his horses and told the other it had to do the work of both. There would be no excuses not to complete the tasks at hand.

The horse struggled and struggled to complete the tasks but often times falling short of the goal.

Upon the farmer seeing this he exclaimed you are spending to much time completing your tasks and I have to feed you to much. So now you have less time to complete your tasks so you won’t eat so much.

Again the horse could not complete the work of two horses in less time all by himself.

So the farmer said, enough of you ! He got rid of the horse and went and got a new younger inexperienced horse that didn’t eat anywhere near as much as the older experienced horses.

Hardly anything was being done. What was done was so messed up had to be done again and again until it was right. The farmer started losing customers as they were upset with poor quality of service they were getting from him.

Eventually the farmer lost his customers because he couldn’t deliver the quality of service or products the town folks had expected of him…..

You forgot the parts where the farmer took undeserved bonuses and tore down the barn and stable to build a fitness center for himself.

The moral of the story is you get what you pay for and greed is not the answer. Whether how I interpret ed the meaning of what you wrote is so very true from the stand point of what is happening to our delivery drivers and retail.
