Thread regarding Cameron International Corp. layoffs

What types of employees are subject to layoffs?

I have to ask for those of you who are knowledgeable in this subject. What kinds of employees in oil companies are subject to be let go? More specifically, is it just legally for U.S. employees or can oil companies legally let go foreigners and green card holders? Are companies stuck with them or is it different if a company paid for an employee's Visa? Please help me out here.

The profile here was high tenured, newer or low performance if their job could be absorbed by other roles, temps, sales, admins if their departments were being consolidated into ones with more than one admin (picked the ones with the most tenure) and engineers. One engineering dept lost all but 2. No one from finance was let go to my knowledge and only 1 HR person. I hear more sales reps will be let go.

I have green card and I've been let go last week at the BPK office Cameron V&M. Not sure about employees with L1 or H1B work visa.

In no order: Bad ones(social loafers); Temporary ones(as they have not been fully hired); Old ones(usually offered packages); New ones(if the position is unjustifiable);

Employees with visas have the same rights as US workers. They can be laid off legally. If let go, can use current visa to find new work.
