From your employee handbook...Severance Pay

Severance Pay No employee shall be entitled to severance pay upon leaving the Company simply as a reward for service. The company, at its sole discretion, may pay severance to a departing employee only when the departing employee has signed a severance agreement generally releasing the company from all claims that the employee may have against the company. If the Company chooses to pay an employee in lieu of notice, the employee will remain an employee until their termination date and thereby is subject to all Company policies and guidelines.
