Sadly the biggest %age of people let go from Wichita Court were Machinists III. They were def going for the people who had been there the longest and who we're making the most money - aside from managers. They did get one manager - she had cancer and was walking around with a chemo bag. Nice, real nice.
Actually Wichita Ct location was a total of 25 people over the past couple of weeks. That includes a couple of people who took early retirement and a couple who quit or were fired.
not like the 80's, so this is better or worse than then?
Not like the '80's? Weatherford's layoffs are related to bad company management only? I've heard others post that is the reason for Weatherford's layoffs. You don't think rig count has much to do with it?
This is not like the 80s
When the rig counts start coming up..the layoffs will cease. More rigs are coming down weekly. This bust is supposed to be as bad ad the one in the '80's. That one went on for month after month..over a year of layoffs...No..it's not even close to being over. Just started to hit here in the Gulf Coast...Ca Dive..big company supplying divers to offshore rigs just went into Chapter 11. That's not a good sign for the offshore workers.
laid off where? Are you a planner, supervisor, or manager?
Laid off where
