Does anybody know why L3 and other companies do a layoff and still post jobs to hire at the same time. It just seems that even after they do a layoff L3 post job openings. Instead of transfering employees to other positions lay them off when there are open positions. This just seem rather confusing to me. Anybody with an explanation for this?

This way they can hire temps and save money on health insurance etc...and then use and abuse them and then let them go....real simple. I can't believe anyone still works for this company. I left in 2013 and never looked back...GOOD RIDDANCE! If corporate is too stupid to see management at CSW driving the business into the ground, then they deserve everything they get. POS company...only the slackers who do nothing will stay there because they are too lazy to actually get a job that requires them to work. Wonder if Vanessa is still wandering the hallways with Q-tips up her nose???? Or if they kept that nappy headed old woman in CCA inspection, she's a liability waiting to happen with her ill tempered ways. Does Dave Vu still have his ENTIRE family working under him? L3 is a JOKE!! And unfortunately, the joke will be on all who stay there and HOPE they can keep coming to work and masturbating! HAHA!
$100k is not what it used to be. Most tech/engineering jobs are $100k+ jobs, even if they are low are average on the bell curve. $100k is not the "big" number it used to be.
How in the world do high paid contractors keep their jobs when qualified directs get laid off? That's the real question here.
Do the math: layoff a bunch of senior people making $100K+, hire a few younger folks at about $60-65K. Management types are excepted, of course.
I don't ever recall seeing a program manager successfully transitioning to a basis admin. That's why.
It's a skills based thing. Get rid of skills you do not need, acquire skills you need. Also, it may be a compensation thing, with folks departing being paid more than folks coming in. My 2 cents.
