I also recived 1 month of paid cobra, at the charable rate of $ 1700 +/-, which was fully taxed. So your severance check (if you get one) will not be as large as you may think. Typically 1 weeks pay / yr of service plus 1 month cobra is what my package was. Again heavily taxed, but I'll be getting most of it back.
PA is no severance required and I received severance pay totaling 5.5 weeks. You just have to remember that there will be 25% in tax held on the federal level, plus 6.2% for SS, 1.45% for medicare plus any state and local taxes. After taxes you might only get 50-60% of the pay on a check.
Hello. No exit money will be issued. No need if reorganization caused your position to be no longer needed. Wait and see for yourself or get another job asap is the stance many are in. Do something or do nothing
No severance requirement, there usually is none. Most states are right to work so severance will not be offered.

At most schools, the rule for severence is 1 year of service = 1 week severence. Don't let them rip you off. They are pretty desperate these days.
Here's hoping for severance.
@72235 Corporate does not care about the students, they never have cared. Let's face it, the students are a means to stealing from the Gov.
As for getting instructors to fill the classes, oh, HR will call who ever is left and offer overloads like they did this quarter and last April when AI canned faculty then.
This is going to be interesting with only a one week break between quarters. Grades are due either Monday or Tuesday and classes start the following Monday. How does coorporarate expect to get instructors in place to fill in for those that are terminated? They truly care nothing about our students. We are still trying to recover from the last rif.
Yes, layoffs will occur right before the April start at Ai
AI likes to layoff during the break or just before the start of the next quarter. That way students can't get mad about their favorite faculty leaving the school and not signup for classes the following quarter.
I know nothing is changing at my campus until after our HLC visit March 9th. I am safe another week at least!
Does anyone know if the cuts and campus closings are coming before Spring quarter begins in April? If not, when?
In addition to the faculty cuts many other departments will be cut: financial aid, accounting, career and student services, registrar and less enrollment needed on campus as centralization occurs and small campuses close.
Breaking leases... most have EDMC Corp guarantees... it will still be acash drain...
That is why they are breaking leases. May be related also to the President's secret meeting in Tampa and Houston this past Monday.
Gonna be a lot of unused class space....
Probably more than 50%, the drop in enrollment is so big they will have to cut more than 50%
Directors/Deans are already starting to observe faculty and send results to group VP.
Where does this supposed info come from?
