Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Amazon is testing out delivering its own packages

It's amazing to see that Amazon is testing out delivering its own packages to have better control over the shopping experience. But Staples is getting out of this when its so clear having your own fleet deliver your products is what the consumer wants. Nothing feel worse when your boxes come via another company and its damage, late or items are missing and they can't help you.

I am sorry for everyone that's losing their jobs on this website. I hope everyone will find work soon.

They would always say to keep writing up feedback and yet would never do ANYTHING to correct the issues we brought to their attention. We always got the famous "Bad Geo Code" excuse! That was their way of pushing the problem aside and never doing anything about it but would always hold us drivers accountable for all the problems on our routes. And don't forget the "I matter" write ups. Love the way we were graded on their inferior scoring and record keeping. Management and their policies suck!

72626 you are correct... bringing in Roadnet appears to be a fairly large mistake at a large $$ expense. The TAs never knew how to take our feedback as drivers... Some Fleet Support Managers did decent work. Some were dumbs as a box of rocks and took advantage of their freedom... never producing results because they never knew what they were talking about. I have to say Charlwood was one of the few stand up people that would come around. Other than that it is why we have lost our jobs and are on the unemployment line

I agree with #72626... Staples wasted a lot of money.. Drivers were the bread and butter for this company.. with lots of micro managers...

I hope Staples gets rid of all of those useless TA people in the process. That was such a waste of f***ing money having that department. They messed up drivers routes so

Bad. Another thing Staples waste to much money on SDO district managers. These managers would drive in stay in hotels and come in just to visit and not do crap. A lot of wasted money in the company. I hope that lousy f*** Ron Sargent sleeps good at night for putting thousands of people out of work.

Going 3rd party delivery is how Staples has shot themselves in the foot. This will be the downfall of this company.

Who knows what our leaders are thinking. I've been reading this site for the past 4 months, I check it everyday, read every comment. Our SDO is still open, but for how long. We all know the bottom line is profit. We've all been pushed, they've cut routes to add more stops and product to make more money. I wouldn't be surprised if Staples is gone in the next five years. Our leaders have notice the decline the past couple years, probably decided to cut everything to make as much $$$$ as possible. It's areal shame. To see people get used like this.

That's alright, maybe one day soon customers from Staples will purchase all of their office supplies strictly from Amazon and knock Staples out of the way in the process! Hope the company folds as they deserve to for the way they handle and treat ALL of their employees!!!
