I have heard many (unconfirmed) rumors that Pioneer Natural Resources, which is headquartered in Irving, Texas but has a large presence in Midland, Texas (in Permian Basin) may have begun letting go of some of the workers (non-contractor people). Can anyone confirm this rumor? If you have been let go, was there any warning about the layoff?

Pioneer security needs help.Field personal receive guns,trips and vehicles from vendors . Security hasn't caught any yet.Said personal stealing from company.Some work in Irving office.
I work hard in college to be a Pioneer Employee.After seeing how the field hands are being treated in the last six months is not the Pioneer I know.They have laid off some of the best drill hands in the oilfield.I just hope before it's to late someone will see this and make changes.
Pioneer is going through hard times in drilling department.Pioneer had two groups Patt and Swat.They had Patt investigated to run off the Supts.They didn't investigate Swat.They promised people good jobs to help get dirt on people.Pioneer security is a joke.They turn their heads when told so.Pioneer had engineers working with swat to report of company violations.Swat was handed control over all rigs.We restructure with team leads.That wasn't good enough for Swat.They restructure with swat running the operations.They restructure behind closed doors without Team leads having any say.All the hard work we work out in to restructure for nothing.Millions of dollars spent wasted.Swat used us to set them up.Since their take over we have lost very good men and replace with yes men.Cost has gone up.

Pioneer field operation is a joke.They layoff while people are home.No guts to face them.Some are far off then have to drive to pick up their belongings.They have loaded paperwork on us.When drilling picks up there sure will be plenty of job vacancies.They don't want anyone that might question them.I want recommend Pioneer to anyone.
Yes Pioneer laid people off.The lazy and thieves didn't make the cut.
They lay hands off when you get home.No notice.Most have to go back to midland and get their belongings.They don't like facing people when they lay off or give a reason.
I'm in Midland working for a small contractor for Pioneer. We just started a new job that should last at least a couple months. Oil is kind of starting to go back up, fingers crossed, all will be good.
