What the heck, anonymous89365??? Econ 101 would help you understand anonymous89246. Let me help . . ."A bit early in the game, but outside the E& P aspects of the oil & gas job market is good." This means if you look outside of oil & gas employment, the job market is good. "Houston, . . . Is a good job market despite the oil & gas downturn." This means there are a lot of jobs available in Houston that ARE NOT oil & gas jobs. "Downstream & the associated infrastructure accelerates with the increase in supply & demand." . . . Reminder, COP is an E& P (upstream) business, & P66 is (downstream) business, so. . . If you wanted to jump ship & try to get employeed by P66 or any other downstream business, downstream businesses improve with an increase in supply & demand, BUT "Unfortunately in the current situation the supply exceeds the demand despite the increase in demand." . . . Awwwe, but even though there has been an increase in demand, the supply still exceeds the demand. Money happens when demand EXCEEDS supply. "Options on the coasts and the major metropolitan areas Are good." . . . This means there are good job markets on the coasts and in large cities. "Needless to say, Bartlesville is without options for unemployment." COP (& P66) is the only game in town. Those laid off cannot find jobs in Bartlesville with the same income & benefits just lost.

A bit early in the game, but outside the exploration and production aspects of oil and gas the job market is good. Houston in fact is a good job market despite the oil and gas downturn. Downstream and the associated infrastructure accelerates with the increase in supply and demand. Unfortunately in the current situation the supply exceeds the demand despite the increase in demand. Options on the coasts and the major metropolitan areas are good. Needless to say, Bartlesville is without options for employment.
