Recently, some of us have heard rumors of upcoming layoffs directed more towards salary employees. Anyone else have heard of this?

Yes. More permanent employees got laid off first, rather than contractors.
Please fire some useless managers already!!
According to my manager All managers are safe
The answer to your question is that there's been no specific target (salaried or hourly) for layoffs in the past, and nor will there be in the future. Every type of position was and is threatened.
Yea I get every position is in danger, but the either you're new or just waking up comment not really needed. I asked a question about possible upcoming events not what happened 2 years ago. I know they have been laying off salary and hourly but we have been hearing they are laying off upper level management positions.
If you are just learning they are hitting salaried employees, you're new to the company or have been asleep at work for a very long time. They started almost 2 years ago.
Rumor is mid level, supervisors, & Corporate will be next. Reducing layers of management
My team was salary. 1/2 were gone last month.
No one is safe except uncle Bernard!
I'm salary and was laid off last month....
Everyone?!?
Every position is in danger.
