Who else thinks that the management at the Center is full of crap when they think and talk about how they are going to sell their centralized services to other schools/companies? Their managment can't even lead their team out of a wet paper bag......

The transactional side fractured when it all got lumped under a very poor director.....it needs to be stripped away from that and given to someone with ideas to make it better instead of someone that just says ok to all the process owners at the location's requests.....need someone with a backbone not insecurities in that role.
Career services is the best part of every school. They are the ones who "save" face for the campuses. Sadly, they can only do so much. Eventually the poor, "uneducated" job candidate has to be the one who wins over the employers. The employers see how poor their schooling really was then decide to hire someone else. Central Services is the part that needs a complete overhaul (or let go). They refuse to answer questions, request everything be done on the phone (no emails - to avoid anyone accidently misreading something that could get them in trouble) and never have any new ideas to offer. Here's an idea, change the educational system and bring quality learners to school and then let the change happen as it should. Stop making excuses and blaming the career services departments. It's hard to build a golden palace out of brick made from sh!t.
Just a delaying tactic to preserve their paychecks a few more months... KKR probably has not dug that deep into the minusha ( sp?) yet.
Very valid points on the IT side.....The part that concerns me most is the transactional side of it.....they can't even service the EDMC schools to 100% satisfaction how do you sell those services to outside businesses?? The management on the transactional side is so weak and raw.....the VPs must not realize how weak it actually is......
I worked in "The Center" a few years, most of the competent tech left, some were terminated and they were replaced by contractors at a lower pay rate with no benefits. I can't tell you how many times I would get a call back from a student that was brushed off by a tech and I had to actually fix their problem. I also overheard some of the calls and the information they would give the callers was just wrong. And they want to outsource their services? Good luck to them, it's never going to happen. The contractors are not tech savvy and no one will buy their services. It's a last ditch attempt to turn The Center into a source of income because they are desperate. They terminated me and I am glad they did. I'm working for a company that pays a competent wage and appreciates my skills.
It's BS.. They outsourced facilities management against no meaningful benchmark, outsourced Real Estate representation, outsourced professional Arch and Engineering services. So no potential there. Marketing Sucks so limited potential there... Establishment of compliant policies is proven to be a problem... It is another pipe dream. And who do they think would be potential clients? The entire for profit sector is facing the same headwinds.... Step away from the crack pipe and put your sippy cup of Koolaid down.
No one is buying their services. It's a damn joke. Come by our services, we have tons of lawsuits, A terrible reputation, and unethical managers.
