Take a look at who they had in some of these positions and then you'll know why. Its not what you know it was who you know and how close you were with that manager. It didn't matter if you knew your job or how well educated you were as long as you were buddies with the boss or related to someone you got the job. Buddy system failed in all areas. Maybe they can go with most qualified candidates in the future.
