Do the presidents tell staff/faculty, the Dean, HR...? What if there is no President? Does HR tell people they have been let go? Who at the campus level actually knows what is happening and when? I have never been through a RIF before. I have never worked for a corrupt shitty company before either so this is all new to me.

Or you will get an HR call out of the blue on a Tuesday morning when you are on vacation or out on disability......
33% of YTD Enrollment plan, that means that excluding persistance, gross revenue will be off substantially. Heads be 'rolling...

Find a different career field people! The For profit college business is crashing. Just in my town Staples and Radio Shack closed and moved out in the past 3 months. Economy is still sucking and people are starting to notice. Spending $$$$$ for education makes no sense when community colleges are going to free offerings.
Most of the posts here are pretty spot on. This is why everyone always to leave on your own terms. This is not the first time EDMC lays off, and it sure as hell wont be the last Take the advice of others, get out now before the rush of unemployed folks floods the market. This place is a joke.
IT will turn off your email/computer access 15 minutes after you start work. You will sit at your desk for 1 1/2 waiting for your severance package. Then, you have 15 minutes to collect your stuff and leave the building. It happen to me . . .
Our president just became interm president at another campus today and this afternoon, corporate HR showed up (no HR on campus). We will also start spring term with less than 500 students. Can't help but be worried about what tomorrow brings. Others I work with have already started looking for jobs, but I am confident that I am needed still. Now I am second guessing.
Or you'll simply get a phone call around 3 pm on Thursday like me....
What the previous mentioned is on target in comparison to the past...tic toc tic toc time is running out for many and no one will know until the last possible moment. Keeping in mind the higher ups that brought the house down have been looking for employment for quite a while now. Par for the course all things considered. Good luck as there is greener grass to graze
You'll get a calendar invite to either attend a meeting or jump on a conference call. It will all be conducted by HR who will use the excuse that "in order to align our costs for our students, your position has been eliminated". It has nothing to do with student costs. In fact they haven't gone down at all. It is just the fact that the company stock trades for about a quarter and they are around 33% of their YTD enrollment plan. (not to mention the huge, pending lawsuits) If you're one of the luck ones, they'll "accidently" shut your email and/or phone off the day before like they did last year so everyone knew on Friday they'd be canned on Monday.
