Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Attention district managers.

If you think you are saving the company by pushing out seasoned manager to save some payroll you are wrong. All you are doing is getting rid of pillars that are holding the stores up and replacing them with toothpicks. What you don't realize is that you'll be in the building when they collapse under pressure.

Would love to see Vinnie run a store on the payroll provided. Totally different ballgame than when people like him and Demos worked in stores.

At least some of the other execs are somewhat professional when they rip you a new one. Vinnie is like a bull in a china shop. Unprofessional , rude, and clueless. No management skills what so ever, just fear and intimidation. Even if I am not with Staples at the time, I will cheer the day he gets capped like all the good people he pushed out. Karma is a bitch.

Associates and managers need to tell what it's really like to work for staples on sites like glass door etc. if people knew how it really is they would not get people fast enough to replace managers they push out Nd you might save someone from leaving a good job and making a mistake of coming here with the lies of their told

DM's are being forced to do the dirty work because they think it will save their jobs. Wake up DM's your next when your stores no longer run efficiently because you killed off everyone who knows the business. You try to micromanage every store but how long can you keep that up. See the writing on the wall.

Yes, Vinnie forced Steve Lemieux out as well. I had the displeasure of running into him the other day while he was walking the store with my new GM and ripping him a new asshole. One of the most uncomfortable and unprofessional business encounters I have ever had. I had to walk away before I did something totally unprofessional. Like tell him what the reality was. He expects all to be accomplished with less than minimal staffing or he is axing anyone in his way... Wait and see what he ends up with for staffing in his stores...... He thinks it's bad now............

Confirmed - DMs that refused to put good GMs and assistants on PiPs were pushed out.

Games.....staples plays games...they are cheap, back stabbing idiots. It will all come out. The secrets and miss treating of employees.Everyone knows..every company knows now it's time to get the media / and Lawyers involved..It's just not right. and it's just going to get worse with the merger .I feel sorry for ones left with nothing that gave everything...I am next!! I know it!..my resume is out there.Time to make a change or stay and be fired after 16 years.

The pressure comes from the Execs, the DM's are just following along to save their own asses. All the DM's that had the nerve to defend the stores are gone. In Region 1 Vinnie Servello has gotten rid of at least 4 DM's over the last 2 years and he is aggressively going after anyone he thinks makes to much, regardless of their performance level. Steve Liotta was forced out by Otis because he dared to stand up for the stores.

I employ if you are a DM. Respond with the truth and stop hiding behind the skirt of HR calling it policy and procedure to deny them unemployment. These persons deserve to at least be able to find another job. Stop denying them unemployment.
