Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

It's how Corporate America is

I feel bad for those who are unhappy with the way things are. But unfortunately it isn't anything new or uncommon. For another example of corporate greed just look to some of the comments employees of Dreamworks are making on this site about their management.

What you can do for yourself is believe in yourself and do something that makes you happy. It takes a bold move to leave a steady paycheck but how long is that going to be around? For some it's already gone. When you put your future in the hands of people that you don't really trust, who's the fool? Time to bet on yourself.

You will find this at the majority of publicly traded companies.

Although I tend to agree I think the problem with a lot of employees is what Mattel is "supposed to" represent. A 70 year old toy company that has/had some great brands. Until you realize the people in charge there don't really a give a crap about that then you'll get the defenders both current and ex employees. You are right...the people with talent that are left need to move on. Mattel is a corporation first...toy maker second, or probably sixth. If you're talented you won't make a difference and you're also outnumbered.
