Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Rumor is Sperry will be sold

Baker's Inteq will survive and turn in to Hal. Inteq apparently has more advanced tools. The fact that Hal is buying Baker, its because of Inteq and Drill Bits, the superior tools and market share. Just rumors.

I think that is one of the main reasons HAL went after BHI, better technology in several areas. Plus, BHI had been creeping up to takeover the #2 spot from HAL and the only way to prevent that was to buy BHI.

In Middle East (specially in UAE) Inteq has better market share than Sperry. Why? Tools performance and reliability. I don't think Inteq was the main reason of the acquisition. .

Rotary steerable systems, in most applications perform to a similar standard. What matters is the R&M cost. It's here where Inteq have a clear advantage. A similar though slightly smaller advantage is present with motors

I was surprised to hear the same thing about Inteq. I always thought the Geopilot was better than AccuTrak, but what do I know? Not so surprised to hear Hughes Bits will survive and HDBS will be divested, tho HDBS does have solid bit science.
