Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Anyone know what's going on at Huntsville?

About 90% of us were told not to show up to work today thursday. They gave us the option to use sick, vacation, or just unpaid excused day off. But we could not work. Is their trouble brewing here?

There was plenty of work in Huntsville, not machine related but if Weatherford wants to save money they could also help their employees. Instead of hiring a cleaning crew to spend 8 hrs waxing a break-room floor they could have let some of their guys/gals do it. fire the cleaning crew and have the employees do it during these slow time so they can put food on the table. If the work ever jumps back up then rehire a cleaning crew.Just my 2 cents.

I seriously don't know why they haven't done that in Fort Worth. That's smart management. No work? - why have 100 people sitting around doing nothing? I don't see how they'll recover from this financially.

JDE has been down which means no work orders being printed. Hardly any work in the shop. This "no show" day was only for today. We were told that the company had no issues with taking sick time or vacation tomorrow.
