There were a some layoffs in January and a large amount this week. When will the next round be? I heard back in 2008/2009 they were about a month apart, followed by furloughs for several months.

Who knows how long will the recovery take? Soros has been investing in Transocean and other Oil stocks, so, he tends to time his trade perfectly - this leads to me to believe that we may be fairly close to the bottom as it relates to Oil prices.
He went through them last time. Said there were two big rounds of layoffs. Doesn't mean that it will happen again, but if it is going to take as long for oil to rebound as they say it will I think there is a good chance we are not done.
