We think the stock price relates to the company finances? Lol. Everyone knows Paramount is one of the most manipulated and shorted stocks in the whole market. If you don’t know spend 5 minutes doing research. Go look at quarter by quarter earnings. They were all strong and full year 2024 will be as well. Clearly you clowns don’t work for Paramount if you don’t know how your company is doing lol.

What does 2024 was good financially come from? The only reason the company has been doing well at all over the last few years is because of selling company assets ( real estate ) and layoffs.

"The state of our company"? huh? 2024 was very good financially. Everyone is in jeopardy that has nothing to do with working remote. Skydance wants to cut a lot of STAFF

i always tell people - cbs is where i learned a big fact in life. its NOT unemployed people that don't want to work - it's people that HAVE jobs are the people that don't want to work. people at CBS for the majority don't want to do any work.

“Nope, no nerve here. “

Yeah right. The tone on your post speaks volumes. Bold statement to think that your job or any job is not in jeopardy given the state of the company. Best of luck!

"Sounds like a prior post hit a nerve with this person. Perhaps they feel their remote job is in jeopardy with the merger. Good luck!"

Nope, no nerve here. I'm just wondering why people care where others are working from. I am fully remote, and I have been since I started, and I am not in any jeopardy. I am interested in the dinosaurs who think going to the office means anything. Sounds like they are the sensitive ones worrying about where people are working from. Sorry if you have a bad boss that makes you go in circa 1999

Why do people think Remote is going away? I have been remote since before Covid as most of my team is all over the place anyway. I'm in the states though. If they take Remote away I'm bailing but I honestly would be surprised if they do

Yes. Please stop with the WARN violation biz - it IS a joke. info from WARN is good info BUT any talk about company's NOT filing WARN is ridiculous. There's no protections from WARN, you don't get your job back, MAYBE a little cash months down the line for a violation - but it's a minimal cost of doing business for company's. It's actually worth the cost of penalties to shock & demoralize employees. The amount of employees fired that the company will perpetually save money on going forward is priceless. You're only recourse for money or getting job back is from discrimination suits

Warning? A lot of people in thread don’t get that companies don’t have to file warn notices before announcing layoffs. As long as your termination date is 3 months from when they tell u, they have time to file the notice afterward. Any warn notices u come across for paramount always refer to people who have already been given notice. So no useful research to be done there except to understand how many got canned

Years ago CBS2ny news director Diane Doctor & her cronies that came from WNBC hired away over 40 people from ch.4 to bloat the ch2 staff. When layoffs came shortly after Doctor left - wcbs laid off the employees that were staff long before the NBC people. Hopefully karma will come around to laying off those NBC people that are still there - none of them were any better than the pre-existing staff

You are correct with your debt numbers. The difference is CBS actually made money and Viacom was a consistent money loser. CBS didn’t have issues paying its debt.

if you haven't left yet, is it because the job market is so bad or because you believe in the mission? or are you like me and enjoy the work despite the lack of positive atmosphere?

There was $18 billion debt in merged of which $8.5 billion was Viacom.. viacom was valued at $12 billion at the time & CBS was valued at $18 billion for total of $30 billion combined market value. Don't say CBS didn't have any debt

Too bad for IBEW got laid off because, however many got laid off - say 6, then A few months from now six or more senior IBEW guys will take buyout per the perpetual backroom deal. Once the coast is clear & the 6 laid off ibew have been gone & forgotten another 6 senior guys will take buyout which also allows them to collect unemployment. Works every time. The senior IBEW guys selling out the livelihoods of the newer IBEW guys.

mostly WGA and SAG but some techs in IBEW also,
i dont know where they can cut techs from 524 and 530 ?

it seems as if they are planning to use AI to replace writers.
