Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

MuskRat Blew IT!

Elongated Muskrat woke up America about the H1B scam with his dr-g fueled rant over the Christmas holiday.

Now Mr. and Mrs. America know how they feel about us.

If Trump doesn't shut down H1, all of his house and senate cronies will get primary'd out next election.

Here's an example of how Cisco is abusing it.

Look at all of these TCE slots. Do we really need to import people from India to search topic, help people install firmware and OS versions, and process RMA's?

I can’t imagine what they think of Americans in private.

It's in 50 years of conservative writings encoded as English text where Americans either won't or can't read it.

Americans get all "patriotic" when the jobs are going to someone else but they won't pay more than a single penny for a pair of jeans made in America. Just look at all the down votes here for "keep growing your skills and professional network" and all the up votes for "we should be employed forever no matter how bad we are" and this is among a substantially college educated crowd. The contempt really shouldn't surprise you.

You'd think that the streets would be clean and free from sewage, garbage, and dead animals.

I'd think you'd never traveled the US as we have all that waste and far more.

It would be surmised that corruption, graft, and class based bigotry would be non-existent in this magical land.

It's funny because my friends at Cisco from outside the US often said they thought we eliminated corruption only to find we practice it at a level they never dreamed possible.

Could anybody explain?

From a quick Google search: "In 2024, 46% of New American Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants or their children."

Foreigners coming here want to leverage opportunity while Americans want to recreate Afghanistan but with booze.

I was utterly shocked at both Musk and Vivek’s brazen comments.

I can’t imagine what they think of Americans in private.

One would think that if the workers from a certain place were so amazing, talented, educated, and hard working, that they wouldn't need to flee by the millions from their home. You'd think that the streets would be clean and free from sewage, garbage, and dead animals. It would be surmised that corruption, graft, and class based bigotry would be non-existent in this magical land.

Why even sully themselves by coming to America and working with such lazy, unimaginative, and stupid people?

It really activates the folds in my brain to ponder.

Could anybody explain?

"It seems like the low wage argument is just to feel good about yourself. If that were the case you would just see Indians in lower rungs of the ladder doing menial work. But in every company you see them from executive level to the bottom. Are the executives also paid a pittance?" Claws typed this post.

The low wage fact is fact, not argument. People are blowing the H1 database wide open and it's startling how low most of the salaries are.

H1 is supposed to be for emergency use for when there are NO US candidates available. H1 is not supposed to be for cost savings for billionaires.

No need to even mention race here. H1 is a scam for people to milk low paid indentured servants and the US tax payer.

If the jobs are so easy that could be done by Indian labor with minimal skills, why do the companies need to pay even low US salaries to them? Can’t the job be just moved over to India where the salaries would be even lower?

They have needed to stop the H1B scam for a long time. Ive worked at a company where they fired a whole team and made them train 40 replacements from india. If they refused they would not get the 6 months severance on their way out. The replacements were not some genius talent that couldnt be found here they were just cheap labor locked in with work visas and brought their entire families over while the old team of great people were all sc--wed and jobless right before christmas,

Legislation is needed, that's more powerful than executive orders or opinions of Musk. An American worker advocacy group is collecting signatures for reforms to limit H-1B and OPT, please sign.

We put Trump in office and we can fully take out his margin in the house and senate on the next vote if he does not wake up.

It's time to end the H1B scam.
