Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

Are we only speculating about massive layoffs of expats?

It is a reasonable assumption that it will happen next year. But do we know anything for a fact? I hate this job, but I also still badly need it.

It’s simply a job, plenty more out there. You come, you experience it, have some fun, and move on just like anywhere else.

We can only conclude that redundancies would mainly target non Saudi employees, ie, the expat workers. There's been fair warning towards Saudization, and reducing US salaries and their benefits it appears quite simple. Expats are merely disposable assets. Don't expect to feel the love!

Direction of travel is more layoffs. For the last three years thousands of expats have been let go. This will only continue.

There is not going to be mass layoffs, but there will be a steady Outsourcing of the expensive U.S. workforce.
