They'll drag out the layoffs until we all go crazy.

No way this happens by June 1. There may be EOI and voluntary separation by then. Routine PDCs take 2+ months, 3+ months if you add the pre-PDC work. The new org charts are not out. My bet is late Q3 at the earliest for most sub 26 rank & file.
I have said for many years (18yrs with Chevron) that they should stop the dog and pony show they call the PDC and just place us where they already know they’re going to put us. They need to do a serious look at how much time everyone, including the position owners, waste when preparing to shortlist and select candidates.
It’s not a guess. It’s the timeline. And yes, that is exactly why the hybrid work goes to 3 days a week and psg26+ to 4 days a week starting on June 1.
"Won’t get dragged out. It’ll be done in Q1, and org officially operation by end of Q2."
This is likely a good guess.
The hybrid model goes to 3 days/week mandatory on June 1st. So, that means either they will have to increase the number of desk to cover the current Houston work force or reduce the headcount by that date.
Would EOIs be enough to squeeze everyone into the Houston office space? A large number of them will likely be in San Ramon.
What happens to productivity if EOIs happen months before the reorg is finalized? Once EOIs are executed, Chevron will lose many people in key roles. The reorg will have to fill those voids.
I feel like this is going to be different than previous reorgs in timeline and process.
Why worry? We are being paid to job search right now. Enjoy to free year!
ABU started org design early 2024. It’s already dragged too long.
@ xco yea I guess we will see.
What do you think “curated selections” mean from MW? As soon as the EOIs are done in February. selections are starting and you’re not applying for jobs. It’ll be quick
It can’t get here fast enough! So excited!
EOI in Feb. Selections for the L1 and L2 are done in March. The rest in April. And org is operational in June.
Q2 is not a bad guess if he was guessing at all.
Less work in Houston...drop rig count in Q1… by Q2/3 say oh my we have less work so less people (speculation)
“ Won’t get dragged out. It’ll be done in Q1, and org officially operation by end of Q2.”
You must be new to Chevron. Its already been dragged out. Very few details have been agreed upon after several months. No way this is done by end of Q1.
They will get the EOI’s approved and get them out as soon as possible to get them “off the books”. Then they will work from there which will take a little bit longer.
The new orgs aren’t finalized. There’s no way this finishes within the next 3 months.
Just guessing like the rest of you.
@opa are you in management and have knowledge of it being done in Q1 or are you just guessing like the rest or us?
Won’t get dragged out. It’ll be done in Q1, and org officially operation by end of Q2.
It’s just a way to remind people they have the power
They’d gladly be rid of us yesterday if they could. Dragging it out is all about minimizing as much liability and legal consequence as possible.
