Winning Cisco accounts at new job

I got LR’ed this year and landed a job at a company that’s winning Cisco accounts all the time.. they’re seen as low-hanging fruit, specifically in security. There’s so much satisfaction in beating Cisco using my deep knowledge of the company and its weaknesses.. and taking the revenue away.. I got a better salary, better work environment, better manager, better stock options and a stronger reputation with customers and partners.. there are much better places out there than Cisco. If you got LR’ed, join a competitor and go after those low-hanging fruits folks!

I've done it twice now. Was with one competitor who destroyed them in UC and then now watching the same stuff happen in security. I can have an absolute appreciation for those I know and what I learned at Cisco just enough to get my career on to something that will be better long term. May the odds forever be in your favor.

@OP and @fpg which deals / customers are you referring to? I call BS

I don't know OP but it seems entirely believable. Everyone customer facing at Cisco knew both Cisco's strengths and weaknesses and the weaknesses would be hard to defend with that knowledge. Customers have no problem explaining pain points to both Cisco and its competitors hoping someone will solve them, and with Cisco executives holding screaming matches in front of customers that becomes another pain point. These are in part why Cisco has been losing market share in markets growing so fast that only now is it becoming apparent through Cisco's falling yoy revenue and earnings numbers against their competitor's revenue and earnings growth..

@fqd+1w979sU5, going to a Cisco Shop .. aka Partner ..? Never. I will definitely not help Cisco in selling its garbage. My only option was competition and use my knowledge against them lol. If everyone goes to a Cisco Partner, the nepotism based LR‘s will be unpunished ;)

Getting a good new job is hit or miss… even if you’re highly qualified and skilled. There is no easy way to get hired unless you know someone in group hiring or have other connections. I got laid off in Feb this year, and still struggling with getting a good job to land to. Definitely not going back to Cisco, but hopping to land someplace nice, either a Cisco shop or the competitor, wish me luck 🍀. Any competition group that could utilize a highly skilled multiple certifications, please suggest.

I too left Cisco for a competitor and we are absolutely eating Cisco's lunch. I am powered by vengeance and it's sweet.

@hcg+1w979sU5, certain people definitely... but the sh*t politics, poor product management & sales definitely not.😁
