With Aramco for almost two years. More than enough. Nothing here is as advertised. I’m not naive, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. My experience has been more like being in a forced labor camp than anything else. No pay is worth this level of exhaustion, humiliation, disrespect by management, and toxicity. Sc--w this place.

OP, were you chosen yet or still hanging in there whimpering like most do?
Odds are, your boss' "brown starfish" is already being used by his "best friend" or same s-x cousin. While the lifestyle may be outlawed, the act is widely practiced in the Magic Kingdom. Ever try to get an appointment with a shrink in Dharhan? You can't because it is full of Saudi (men and women) trying to justify their same s-x acts. Don't hate me for being the messenger...well not until I tell you about their use of children to fulfill their needs.
The best way to earn brownie points with the boss is to firmly-plant your nose in his doughnut hole; the brown starfish.
This is not a place for any expat craving recognition or praise. A good local analogy is that expat workers are like donkeys. You only need them to perform a job.
More likely you’ll get zero recognition and he will get promoted leaving you where you are. These people don’t value expats, you are a resource to be exploited employers and nothing more. QED.
You must learn how to make your boss shine to the Senior Management. A feeling of great pride (along with an overwhelming sense of admiration) will leave you in a state of “utter awe” when the boss receives his well-deserved recognition awards. You’ll be able to
create a wonderful life for yourself by riding on the tails of his success.
In less than 50 years, history will wrlte;

My favourite was trying to ,eave work at 4PM to get home for Christmas dinner, where the family is waiting for you. But at 3:30, you are told to stay behind as changes need to be made to a PowerPoint presentation, but the boss won't be available till 6PM to tell us the changes, after which he will need to review and discuss the presentation.
Anyone else gotten requests from management during repat on Christmas Day asking for updates? Join the club.
As you said F them. These people have zero culture or morals.
