VBO Not Happening

I don't think the VBO is happening.

A person who would definitely know if a VBO was in the works retired in the recent past (deliberately nonspecific timeline disclosure). If a VBO was coming, this person would have definitely stayed around. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

I'm convinced now... No VBO in 2025!

Last VBO was to reduce old white males and improve Diversity Report. Unlikely it will be given again.

I am definitely not someone who is in the “know” about this these high level things, but in August an acquaintance who used to work at Fido said his best friend still works here and was part of an exploratory “VBO committee” back in the summer, and said that they were “not going to have one because the last one was too expensive”. Which to me begs other questions that they can make it as expensive as they want… Anyway, Really hoping he’s wrong, but didn’t sound good. Either way I will be retiring if not offered.

VBO would benefit loyal tenured associates, so of course upper mngt won’t go that route. Instead keep staffing so low that multiple business units have to help by processing in other groups queues - with no training. There’s clearly conscious attempts being made to make the work environment as toxic and depressing as it can be so that people quit. Fido wasn’t like this 15 years ago.

'Most of us aren't entitled to vbo so we don't care' LOL that's hilarious. You don't care if an offer is made that would potentially free up a lot of upper level positions? You don't care if there is a potential knowledge drain of people leaving Fidelity? You don't care if the company spends alot of money to get rid of people but it may prevent a potential layoff? Talk about short sighted !

Most of us here are not entitled to VBO so we honestly don’t care

Why would it?

Making people quit is the game. More fun for the sadists.

No one on here knows if there will be a VBO in 2025. If they do offer one, the eligible folks will get an email in March.

I don’t think it’s happening either, but if it is happening I would imagine we will know by late Feb at the latest no?

Do you think they might have gotten a package behind the scenes? A lot of execs left in Sept/Oct. I was told they need to spread out the buy outs since it’s a huge chunk of change to have on the books for one year.
