Noticed on the UP job postings page today there are nearly 100 job postings, most if not all craft professionals. Is this for real, or is UP trying to make it LOOK like they are hiring to cover up for an upcoming trial? Seems weird in this era that UP is suddenly interested in a lot of agreement hirings.

They are hiring to replace the people being fired so FRA will see they are trying.
As said earlier on a reply, all these newbies keep quitting after they see the writing on the wall about 24/7 on call….
I think they’re showing that the company is trying to hire people while at the same time encouraging the current employees to leave through critical rules, forced overtime and absenteeism. If they can’t fill the jobs it will be easier for them to eliminate the union labor and contract all mechanical jobs out to a third party. Meanwhile the union heads are sitting around taking bribes and not realizing they won’t have anyone paying dues soon enough.
They sure have a lot of black crackheads in central texas and d-mb as rock ex military id--ts who have friends and relatives hiring on and 300 applications at Ft.Worth and Dalhart.

You couldn't get me to invest a ro--h in this company. This company is running backwards beyond measure.
They can’t keep up with the number of people quitting or being fired for bs cardinal safety rules and their absentee policy.
UP gets tax incentives for hiring people regardless of whether or not they actually have work for them once they are finished with training. Hence, the reason you see them hiring in places where people are already furloughed. Its a dirty game played by the railroads. Don't let your family or friends leave a stable and well paying job to come to this outfit.
