At minimum there will be spot layoffs they are occurring quietly throughout organization. Just not big collective layoffs
I’ll keep my 1 gig fiber service in my urban area thanks. My 5g Verizon running at 50 Mbps doesn’t quite cut it. And weirdly, my neighborhood is about 70 years old. Not even a cherry picked sub division. In fact, my daughter lives in a trendy brand new apt building in a dense part of town. Her gig fiber works fantastic. Her Verizon phone? Gets about 1 bar of service in her building. Luckily she is able to get on her “fiber” wifi. So, tell me again about that amazing cellular service.
Starlink isn’t the reason. The copper is being replaced by fiber and voip. Besides that starling su-ks unless you live in the middle of the desert and are 20 miles from the nearest utility.

At&t announced, they are to shutdown all POTS by 2029.
Verizon and Lumen are surely to follow.
