GSSO Christmas List

GSSO Christmas List:

  1. We need the Global Sales Executive that can drive change to the Security Sales Engineering org as it is an unmitigated disaster that keeps getting worse. My SE has more training than customer meetings. He says if he does not get it done, then he has been told he will be likely LRd in the next layoff cycle. We need engineers and expertise in meetings to drive pipeline and we don’t have it.
  1. Global Security SE Executive that can put Engineering back together. Current Global Security SE Executive created a disaster in getting rid of the hyper-specialist SEs and it has been a free-fall ever since. He has no idea what he is doing. No SE can handle all these solutions. As a seller, I have a high-level talk track around each of our solutions but it is unrealistic for my SE to go deep on every solution. Current Global Security Engineering Executive is unable to lead in getting the engineering support we need as sellers.
  1. Incubation team that works. It is grossly disturbing that the current incubation team tells the field sales no every time we request. My SE can’t do everything but when I reach out to get support from the incubation team, they will not support. They always have an excuse on why they can’t support. The incubation teams are GSSO’s biggest example of fraud and wasteful expense.

EC and TS had multiple LRs in their short reign of incompetence. Their decision of getting rid of the hyper specialists back fired. The Duo business tanked so bad due to their decision that SBG hired a group to drive the Duo business. EC has left to CX Renewals and has picked up where she left off with LRs everywhere. SS that she hired has taken over and is just as bad as her. He has no strategy other than to continue to hire PAN rejects. No wonder why they didn’t make it at PAN, they have no idea on how to lead.

TS and EC are a complete disaster last i was there: i left pan because of them and when they joined cisco it was the end of the line for me again. at pan we used to call them the three blind mice because they never saw a mistake they couldn’t walk into. if you want peace in your life run from them and never look back. they are bad news

TS is a complete disaster. He has made the Security SE role the most miserable it has ever been. He is only focused on his own personal agenda. He has his own special group of people he listens to and they are providing him what he wants to hear instead of the truth.

Agree with OP. The Incubation teams are useless. They get away with setting their rules of engagement so narrow that they provide no value. The Incubation teams should be in the next LR cycle or move some to the field and LR the rest.

Changes are coming to the Security SEs and no one is going to like. He is creating a different version of Click 2 Expert but will be called something else. Security SEs will no longer be aligned to a Security AE. They will be pooled in a different way. If you all thought removing the hyper specialists was bad, you have not seen anything yet.

Spot on.

They ran the SE org into the dumpster and then lit it on fire. None of the technologies are integrated, it's a bunch of acquisitions of seemingly unrelated technologies all fighting against established competitors in kn--e fights. There are no SEs trained in those technologies to properly fight in said kn--e fights. Don't get me started on Incubation, even the name is lame.

So security isn’t selling as it should be?

Agree that Incubation teams are worthless. They work maybe 30 hours a week. They get to focus on one solution but don’t want to be the experts either nor help the field.

um because the solutions su-k and don’t make much revenue and we’re letting the old cr-p die on the vine to be replaced by the Splunk cr-p

Whoever thought of getting rid of the hyperspecialists is a mo--n. GSSO will need to be folded with the way things are going. The sales numbers are horrible. Everyone knows it but they just want to admit it.
