Let's be clear about this."Living Health" has no real meaning. Whatever leadership decides is the flavor of the month magically becomes "Living Health." That's all there is to it - no substance, no direction, no strategy, just BS.
They keep saying they have to reduce cuts to implement the Living Health strategy. Does anyone know what Living Health is? Is that the self-directed programs with other companies, likely AI driven?
I have been with Highmark for 21 years and my team was moved over to enGen. Its sad to watch what is becoming of my co-workers. They use to be full of life and happy to come to work. Now we all walk into PAP like we are attending a funeral. I have a friend on one of the client teams and they are all fearful for what is to come. I guess they see the writing on the wall. No new clients and the ones left are not happy.
All work is going to over India and the workforce in Pittsburgh and New York declining. Get out while you can!
I still have my job, but I refuse to get comfortable. I have seen so many dedicated employees get let go with no rhyme or reason. A common factor it seems is many years of service and closer to retirement age. I would love to know how many offshore folks have been released in the last year and what Highmarks goal is for percentage of offshore employees vs onshore employees employed at Highmark in the near future. The excuse given is financial needs and staying competitive with the market. Why are the other insurance companies not laying off 100s of employees in 2024? ( Rumor has it that they aren't done.)
My hope was to retire from this company but it's hard to stay dedicated to a company when you feel it is one sided and any given day it could be you. An added note, people with a wealth of knowledge are being let go, and not being replaced. Imagine what that is doing to the folks whose teams have been impacted and now have to pick up the slack.
A little birdie said more layoffs in December. Don't be caught off guard. HR is planning the next attack and your manager knows. This has all been in the works for well over a year.
I was impacted by the layoffs for the PMO and it happened on a Tuesday, no warning. It su-ks being told You're one of the best only to be then told sorry Charlie, you're out the door.
I heard this last round was in the 40s. Grass is greener it just might take a little time to find that pasture.
I still work at EnGen, heard that 30 people were laid off this week
I was included in the layoff, no warning! Found out 5 minutes before the meeting appeared on my calendar! Meanwhile, they just did title changes and salary increase a few weeks ago… odd. I’m devastated by this out of no where. I never want to feel not having job security again. Terrible to do to people, especially in this economy.. with no warning.
I know of three long time NYers that were let go yesterday, but I heard nothing else.
Small enough chunks to stay out of the papers
Haven’t heard a final number as to how many were impacted throughout EnGen. PMO for enGen was impacted - about 12- hearing some product areas were impacted
With last RIFs usually they offer severance of 2 weeks for every year worked but no confirmation if that happened this time.
Any idea if severance is offered? And how many weeks per year of service?
What area was impacted?
HR got creative for once by not doing on a thursday
