Moving to the conventional market model. Store managers (stl’s) will oversee multiple stores. Assistant store managers (astl’s) will continue to oversee a single stores. It is not clear how many stores each store manager is taking so the amount of jobs that will be eliminated is unknown at this point. Assistant store managers head count will be reduced but not as severely. Notices will be given after the new year but this is a known among leadership.

How about getting rid of team trainers? The only "trainer" I deal with is the store trainer. My dept. trainer is no help whatsoever.
This site is worthless rumor wise.
There goes that rumor!

My STL works, the ASTL's not so much. This would not be good for my store. SE region is terrible. Wish we could be moved to another region.
A lot of STLs i mean a LOT dont do anything other than just being in the office watching their phone vids of random stuff. Some astls are hard wrkng some are just there milking the cow. Its not a bad idea. Only deserving stl get the job. None if those favorites of el or those that used knee pads. Some have been have death threats, some been called out for doing illegal dr-gs, some for sleeping w tms, some for just not even showing up to work n the list goes on. Amazon sure bought a nice “well” run circus. Its time to clean house.
It doesn't sound impossible, but people post this type of sh-t all the time. How many times have people post that order writers and SSS would be canned...
Good the EL team deserves it they are just a bunch of fake smiled bull sh!tters anytime they visit the stores?
My brother is an ops executive leader in the south region and confirmed this is true. ELs will be taking on a considerable amount of work when this change happens. Let the madness continue
they could save a ton of money if they just got rid of stl's and had astl and those pesky regional visitors once a week...do the math...
Not true
My stl deserves to lose her job.
The company has been making cuts to labor consistently and saying no overtime. They did the same thing with SSI years ago where a few locations kept the role because they are so far out of the way.
I heard this too but “satellite” stores will keep a single STL
Makes sense since stores seem to be having more ASTLs recently.
It’s sad, but it’s the team members that will suffer the most
This is the natural progression of standard procedures and centralization. I miss the old Whole Foods
