RTP and Sydney move to HTTS support only before FY26. 50-60% current TAC will be laid off and positions will be available in Bangalore and Mexico starts from FY26.

Yeah, I’m sure it’s closer to 2:1 now. I did some modeling based on Cisco internal cost averages about 7-8 years ago when there was a significant difference. Indian engineers have been getting 10-15% annual raises since forever, but given I’ve averaged about 1%, it must mean the gap has significantly narrowed.
Even then, we cannot keep an engineer more than 2 years.

20 years ago those of us in the US were offered a chance to move to India on our own dime. At the time the cost differential was on the order of 4:1-5:1, and because so many companies were fighting for people the salaries were rising quickly. Since I've seen people here use the 4:1 number for modern times I'm curious if someone from India can offer some insight as to what kept this ratio from shrinking?
