Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Resigned after the ACT, this is what is different in my current role

Worked on PTD before resigning after ACT of 2016. It did not look good then. Came to this site to see how is it this time. Here are some differences I see with my current company.
This is one role in one company, not everywhere outside Intel.

People appreciated then that I came from Intel but were suspicious of why would I leave Intel to a supplier of a supplier.

The average age is much older in this new company. This means people retired from here. This is a good sign.

Maybe because this is a smaller place but the relationships between people at all levels is much more normal. In general people climb the ladder by lifting others. They noted and corrected my "Intel" way of talking to others. This was great for me as I realized I acquired bad cultural habits.

The pay was similar but in a lower cost of leaving area. Less stock than at Intel at the time.

Managers are trained to commend you for what you did right. Even if it was your job expectation. This still feel fake to me but is not a terrible thing to endure.

This depends on the role but now I am not on call. This increase my pay per hour by around 50% since I was working more than 60 hrs at Intel.

The technology I work with is less advanced at this company but personally I can do more development since not many people share my role. It is actually more interesting.

Many times I thought if I should go back to Intel, now is not the time but who knows.

I also left Intel after ACT and went to a supplier, and have experienced the same things.
