Everyone who was extremely knowledgable about anything is gone and there is no amount of training that is going to make anyone competent enough to hold a candle to those who have been here through the decades. More outrageous decisions today that mean this is really the end. There are some gaps that will just never be filled and there's no motivation left to even try. You can see everyone slowly giving up as if in slow motion. Just a question on a practical note: how do you balance looking for a new job with this heaviness and depression?

The rapid changes initiated by the new private equity ownership have led to aggressive policies that are impacting the company’s stability. The swift transition to regional hubs, particularly in India, without allowing adequate time for knowledge transfer, has resulted in the loss of valuable expertise as most of experienced employees have left or been laid off.
While it’s important to support our colleagues who remain—it’s becoming increasingly clear that seeking opportunities elsewhere is the most practical course of action.
Taking care of your own well-being and professional future is crucial. While it’s difficult to see the company undergoing such drastic changes, preparing yourself for the next step can provide a sense of control and hope for what lies ahead.
Accept the reality and move on.
ACCEPT the reality and MOVE ON!
And
MOVE ON!
The only thing more depressing than Nielsen in its current state is staying aboard as an employee of Nielsen in its current state.
Accept the reality and move on. This ship has been taking on water from the Indian Ocean for way too long now to be saved.
Looking for a job while you still have one is far less depressing than long-term unemployment while trying to find an income. UI in FL is max $275 week for 12 weeks. Good luck but consider yourself lucky you've had all this notice and still have an income.
Writing has been on the wall for a long time. This company is gonna get crushed as the bodies in India they are adding aren’t gonna be able to keep up
im sorry - it well and truly took less than a few hours for things to start falling apart without people like you. and you can see the clients start to get more and more glimpses of the incompetence as the issues pile up. seems like a matter of time
Aa one of the people who has been with the company for a long time (over 20 years) and was recently let go, I am just waiting out my last few days while watching everything around me fall apart.
the job market is extremely tough. start looking now. people laid off with me back in march are still frantically looking, i feel lucky as he-l i got something. i took a pay cut but i have a very nice team and it’s WFH so no complaints on my end. But it took a long time to snag this role. so yes plz start looking. Usually hiring is slow during the holiday season so work on your resume and start finding recruiters or upskilling, whatever you can do, the start furiously looking. if you have any anger, let it drive you.
It sounds d-mb, but you just do it. One foot in front of the other. It is stressful but you have to get it started now. Nielsen is done. Do not let yourself drown with them.
