What are your thoughts about potential Nielsen layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

I am sure new gracenote cto having time of his life, seeing incompetence in India. I have lost count of production issues we had in last month. Ship is sinking and these indian greedy folks waiting to collect severance and enjoy. Total sheet show!
Pick ME.
I think a lot of people will wind up resigning instead of being laid off or chancing the risk of being fired. They can fire you for not meeting your metrics last quarter, being late to a meeting, a bad review… basically anything. They want to save their money because they need US employees to travel more. They would rather not pay a severance or unemployment. Makes complete sense.
I don’t know this keeps being asked. EVERYONE IS BEING LAID OFF. GEG A NEW JOB. lmao
Why stay?
Because some countries have labour laws where staying until your laid off means it comes with not only a big amount of severance but also months of unemployment benefits plus coaching to find a new job. Nice election choices US..
Why keep asking this question? Why are you staying if you know you will be laid off
Think about how the process works.
I think you're over-complicating this, if you are d-mb or cheap or both you can stay, otherwise you'll go. it's as simple as that. They want cheap, compliant people that clap when they say so!
I would get my resume up to date if I were a field rep or manager that is in a close vicinity of another field rep or manager (LPM Markets). If you're in the US and in a position where ever round of layoffs has been a surprise to you, you've been left in the dark because your position is vulnerable and likely in the list to go sometime.
Think about how the process works. It comes from the top, but there a lot of layers to shifting roles, money, responsibilities, and processes. There are people that know that they are safe because they have been involved in the process. If you haven't been involved in any of those conversations, then you're likely only here until systems are in place to minimize the impact of your loss.
Artificial intelligence, offshoring to low skill / low pay countries (ahem, Nielsen), and the amount of people moving around the tech industry trying to stay above water will result in an industry flooded with people looking for work (already there), and employers like Nielsen paying as little as they can for them.
They’ll also tell a lie about “all of the people needed tending to the bots” to keep AI in check, and the high salaries and skills needed for doing so.
Reality is only a small fraction of workers will see this benefit, with the other 90+ percent of tech workers being left in the rear view mirror.
Anyone working in tech (Nielsen or otherwise) should be reconsidering their career choice at this point. The tech ship has long ago departed and is no longer a good space to reside.
Anyone capable of rebooting a modem calls themselves a tech worker now, so time to move on from the world of declining salaries and (ever further) declining job security.
Learn a trade and write off your time spent working in tech. There’s still time, just no more time to be wasted in the tech space.
Is there even anybody left to layoff?
