Have you heard anything about potential Medtronic layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Lots of people got layoff in the Netherlands, Kerkrade and Heerlen
I have a random "business update" meeting with a director tomorrow. I'm guessing it's the beginning of layoffs!
Huge RIF coming in April.
Something started to slip down the cr-pper after Earl Bakken passed. His fine company has changed. When I was there money was spent on Legos. True...Legos at work and time consuming weekly meetings for little more than gossip. How does that create innovation or support a serious mission? Sad.
Haven't heard of any, but moral is at its all time low.
Several employees of 30 years service have been let go in CT plus, several QA. Some say many more in April.
Lasted 38 yrs at Medtronic, the last 20 yrs has been a slippery slope dealing with deception and lies and the truth as of lately is Martha has no clue what he is doing, projects being cancelled or shelved defunded is a horrible business model. Just when you think you seen it all they pull stunts like targeting certain employees to avoid severance packages. See you in court soon MotherMed for discrimination for targeting
Major PRL reorganization with lab closures. RIFs expected at many sites. Thanks to “the AND MAN”.
Go&sc. layoffs? Walmart sourcing strategy isn’t working in medical device? That’s a surprise.
GO&SC is next on the chopping block
Unless they cancel projects and/or outsource more to India I can’t see how it’s possible. That said I’m sure there will be rumors for the next 5 months. PLEASE keep the updates coming, they do help people prepare.
Agreed on CST financials. I work in finance and the AOP numbers are looking like a 10-15% RIF. But we might entertain a VSP.
Seems we at CST are preparing to do less with less. With the latest sales and 5Q planning it looks like there will be a 39% hit to AOP which should mostly have to come out of DL expense. So put on your seat belt.
There was another round again in IT.
Geoff deserves another 30% raise! He is financially engineering the extraordinary.
MEIC resources is good for some things, but relying on them for everything will lead to patients getting hurt or even die.
There is push in terms of KPI to use MEIC resources.
Draw your own conclusion.
With the stock price waffling between $85-$90 while the rest of our peers increase, it’s sign that investors have zero confidence in our leaderships ability to grow the business.
Layoffs will be inevitable so that Finance can at least report they have control of bottom line results, while there is poor outlook for top line growth.
And despite how many times Geoff says AI & robotics on earning calls, the revenue is not coming in.
"The magic 8 ball says Feb 30th" just in time for me to file for medicare .... Come on ERP ... wowhoo ... early xmas gift !!!!
Thank the good lord I was tapped last year; after 13 years (may that was an omen), I was sick and tired of the pile of tu-d this company turned into.
I took my bonus and dumped that into Bitcoin when it was 20k, and sold last week and now don’t even have to work anymore; so I guess I’m not bitter but just sad to see my former colleagues; many of them good people are struggling to find motivation to keep GM’s dream alive of engineering the future & embracing change.
In-house and field don’t always follow the same cycle.
BU driven and corporate driven Rifs also don’t always follow the same cycle. Sometimes they do just to avoid an extra news cycle.
When you ask the question, your answer you get may have absolutely no relevance based on the above.
Having said that. The magic 8 ball says Feb 30th
I heard the cardiovascular diagnostics sales force in CRM was let go today.
I hope I get laid-off I would happily take the severance, so I can 100 percent focus on finding something new.
Corporate Communications and Global Leadership teams will need to trim headcount, 15-30%, to meet AOP.
There will be some layoffs in CST
For the CRM layoffs that are expected, any idea about timing? Wondering if that will take place soon or in April. Thanks!
I hear SI has been doing silent layoffs /outsourcing the past few months
I heard yesterday that CRM will be hit.
