Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Morale is down the toilet

I’m depressed just at the thought of coming into work. Almost everyone around me is in the same boat. What’s the point of having a workforce that’s all down? If we have been made to be invested in a company, productivity and morale would go up. When you feel undervalued and alienated as most of us do, it’s impossible to do the good work.

I’m in IT, and feel the same way. Mark Murphy is seriously the worst executive I’m ever met, let alone worked for. In it only for himself, and willing to do anything needed to put his team down to make himself feel better.

In the golden years we had a guy who endlessly complained about the morale problem. He didn’t see that he was the problem.

Do you know if the changes to TEBG are being applied to the other business units?

This is a victory for 3M leadership.

They want you unhappy, so that you will leave the company.

They need to get the headcount down so that operating costs are nice and low when they start selling of the various parts.

frankly speaking after the A3M changes and those subsequent changes, i have mentally switched off and dont really bother to work anymore. just give the minimum at work while collecting the pay cheques. dont need to complain.

Agreed that some of us are lucky to even have jobs while our ex colleagues are struggling with the bad job market.

That does not take away that it is tough to remain motivated. The fact that I am grateful for a regular paycheck and languishing are true at the same time.

You still are receiving a monthly paycheck so I don't feel too bad for you.

A lot of people lost their jobs at 3M during all the rounds of layoffs. Not all of them have found new ones yet.

All the uncertainty with the NEW TEBG model feels like a punch in the gut. I wish it was handled with more thought.
I definitely didn't feel like getting much done.
