I have been hearing that 50% of my Membership Team is going to be laid off in January and the ones left behind will be put into larger teams consisting of local and national reps that will be required to travel. Is anyone else heard this and is there any truth to it?

No more specs just announced. In-person recruiting is about to disappear... MR's be warned, it'll all be over-the-phone signing... get out quick if you're not staying for severance. No more specs?????? Nielsen is breathing its last breaths.
Yes, there's truth to it.
Plans are to move recruiting to remote as much as possible. This isn't future, it's happening now. MR's will be reduced, possibly only recruiting Basics in the field, if that.
FR's will be reduced to being dispatched by PRS's in Mexico, working shifts, being paid less due to less need for bonuses to be paid out, and headcount reduced as much as possible.
Nielsen working to incorporate all types of Chat Bots and AI Agents into workflows to reduce the need for humans.
This is the business model of our (temporary) owners. They'll sell us off, make a profit, and DGAF about the quality of our product and long-time knowledge and experience of the people who are gone. The Nielsen we knew is dead and not coming back.
- A quickly dying company.
- Dead model for measuring audiences.
- Zero innovation over the last decade.
- Offshoring everything (aka desperation) to low skill / low cost areas.
And you’re really having to ask this question? Why are you still there, questioning if there will be more layoffs for any department?
You can’t be that blind. Move on already.
Nielsen wants panel costs gone in their perfect world within two years. They escalated the layoff pace when savings were not sufficient. Logical that they will pick up speed reducing panel cost as well. That means reducing equipment and reps fast.
