Jim Farley Townhall meeting - Quality & Warranty Cost

Jim Farley led a candid discussion with senior leaders about needed quality and warranty cost improvements.

OMG - We have known and asked the past 3 CEOs about this for the past 10 years. Nothing changed, no improvement, no plans, no results.

What in he-l are these CEO doing beside milking the company until bancruptcy.

The US car makers quality and reliability su-ks.

This is why they can no longer gain market share.

I have owned all 3 US car makers vehicle and I have had nothing but problems. I stopped buying them since 2001.

Ford leadership is smoking some stuff. After years of saying "GM and Chrysler have 25% less cost than we do" and cutting critical milestone validation and testing (they wanted to do RF noise testing through simulation I kid you not) they are wondering why our quality su-ks??? Bunch of jokers with no engineering know how. It's about damn time we put an engineer in charge of Ford motor company these marketing and finance guys have turned us into another Boeing

If you work on quality and reliability items, your LL2/LL3 will tell you to stop working on these things that increase weight and cost.

It’s a cultural problem and always has been. Farley inherited the poor quality culture but he has made the culture so, so much worse in his time as CEO. Sycophants are rewarded and anyone willing to stand up to management is laid off. I can’t say it clearly enough — it’s gotten worse under Farley not better!

A culture of quality starts at the top and all our execs do is point fingers downward.

plenty of tracking of it. lol. everybody who studies this stuff knows it has to be baked in to the design process from the start. not add it on at the end (e.g. inspection.) and you cant let purchasing just squeeze suppliers until they start saying "ok" and just cheapening the parts without telling anybody. "they want it cheap, they'll get it cheap, mwah ha haaaa...."
