Have heard rumors of small layoffs happening in November. Is that true? Anybody hearing similar?

At this point consider yourself lucky to get the severance package from the large layoffs. There will be 0 large scale layoffs at cisco in the mid term despite all the bs rumors here. BUT there will always be small scale ones every Q or half.

JP should go apply at Apple and leave the Networking company to the technical experts period.

Arista?

Save yourself by being your boss’s yes man . That’s the only factor that will help in layoffs . I’ve seen older workers being saved because boss saved them and younger workers getting the axe as boss felt threatened with their ability to get things done . Layoffs are not going to stop anytime soon . Do yourself a favor by being pro active and look for a job when you still have one .

Oh come now. Let people ask.

Yes, we have ongoing rolling layoffs, but some months have large cuts and are more likely than others.

Fiscal year end is often a cut time of year.

November and Febuary are the next likely times. November has large cuts scheduled and ongoing in the Europe areas, so US folks are likely looking at Febuary for the next larger cuts (maybe) and Europe is looking at April (maybe). (My guesses based on rumors, past performance, and the $200-300M left for restructuring fees).

If you'd like to skip the cuts this fiscal year, we could opt to make our products better and treat our customers better. shrug It's what our competitors are doing at any rate.

We could also develop in-house instead of trying to aquire overpriced junk that requires us to lay off as many people as we brought in via aquisitions, but that's also just how our competitors are succeeding. Who'd want to succeed the way everyone else is huh? eye roll.

I heard there are going to be layoffs in November.
I heard there are going to be layoffs in December.
I heard there are going to be layoffs in January.
I heard there are going to be layoffs in February.
I heard there are going to be layoffs in March.
I heard there are going to be layoffs in April.
I heard there are going to be layoffs in May.
I heard there are going to be layoffs in June.
I heard there are going to be layoffs in July.
I heard there are going to be layoffs in August.
I heard there are going to be layoffs in September.
I heard there are going to be layoffs in October.

Pass it on so we don't have to cycle through every moran at Cisco who didn't bother to follow any of the news indicating that of the $1B allocated for this layoff there is still $200M-$300M already in the chamber, never heard that Cisco has had layoffs for the past 23 years, and never bothered to read all the other posts asking "are there going to be layoffs in November" and every other month.

They don’t need to announce if it’s less than 50. Distribute jobs to enough sites/states and they could get away with up 350-400 layoffs in the US or call them out as regular restructuring.

Q1 earnings are on 11/13. It wouldn’t surprise me if they did announce something.
