It’s been a tough few months at CGI.
Many people across Canada — including senior leaders, VPs, directors, and long‑tenured employees — have been impacted by recent layoffs. It’s difficult to see so many experienced colleagues suddenly affected, especially in an organization that has historically been known for stability.

These changes have raised real concerns about the company’s direction, performance, and the overall state of leadership. Morale has taken a hit, and many employees are feeling uncertain about the future.

In times like this, it’s important to support one another, share opportunities, and help those impacted land on their feet. If you know someone who has been affected, reach out. If you’re hiring, consider giving these talented professionals a chance.

Challenging moments can also be turning points — for individuals and for organizations. Let’s hope CGI finds a clearer path forward, and in the meantime, let’s stand by the people navigating this transition.

Layoffs are going on now. Have 30 yrs in (US) and got layoff notice, job going to India. Hearing it's a good many but personally don't know the others. Timeline might vary job to job, some have a few weeks (you know, to train your replacement) and then the bench. Watch out for a meeting invite that is just you and a higher up that's not your immediate boss.

Watch out if you know you'll be on the bench soon, or if your project starts having funding issues.

I would predict less than 2023-2024 but still, anyone on the bench is definitely at risk. I am in Canada.
