Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Wow! This thing is REALLY collapsing

I believe there will be another round of layoffs announced very quickly. Its all collapsing much faster than Stevieboy “planned.”
Stevieboy is going go have to make some big changes in the immediate future. If you thought you could make it through next spring, take a good look around and review your personal plan because your situation may have changed.

Sooner than later all Xerox will have in the U.S. are field managers, field techs and Norwalk execs. All other business related support structures will be off-shore. Selling out to the lowest dollar with the lowest intellect will drive Xerox in the ground. India and Guatemala are not the answer. There is no commitment nor allegiance to the company from off-shore employees. No vested interest in Xerox and the off-shore employees really do not care. It is a job and they will bolt for a dollar more an hour. It is a revolving door of incompetence.

The pension can never be scooped. It is not in Xerox. Low quality posts on this site.

Oh yeah. It starts.
My wife and I worked for Zeros and India took my job four+ years ago.
Today, my wife suffered the same fate with no advance notice.

"Surprise employee. You're gone. There's the breadline."

"They have non-transferable skill sets so for most of them this is the end of their career and they know it."

I'm sure that's true for some, but not most. I left/retired on my own terms, but my skills were transferable to many companies. This is going to vary on job function, but I was never worried about getting let go as I knew I could find a job within a few weeks, even today.

If somebody truly doesn't have transferable job skills, that's on them. It's important for any employee to keep their skills up to date, even if it isn't something you can apply immediately to your current employer. That means spending a little time on your own polishing and learning. If you can apply them to a problem at Xerox, great, it helps you move ahead.

The funding ratio seems to be the biggest kept secret in HQ. Good year for investments so it may be ok, but it seems to me (speculation) that they found some way to pull back some funds. It went from fully funded to under 80% quickly and quietly last year. New CFO seems weak. My guess is cash option will be gone soon.

Any thoughts on what the 2025 Pension Funding level may look like? Is it likely to dip to a level that pushes the payout to 100% annuity?

"there is no way that SB and his staff can stay on with these results and substandard management" ...... but yet they do. Loads of people running around trying to sort out the mess of some sales teams, but they keep on exactly the same

What does one expect … Keep laying off the worker bees and the ones that know how to get things done …The results speak for themselves…Xerox is a complete mess today. Nice job SB!

Part of the SB plan seems to be to remove as many legacy employees as possible. Seems to me we are now leadership roles only from the outside. No respect for past accomplishments or actual accumulated knowledge. Repeating many mistakes, particularly XIM. They are the worse they have ever been (and that is saying something) and don’t seem to know it.

The lay-offs have gone on for years. How many are left after he did the first half lay-off announcement? It can’t be many. His options for lay-offs are reduced but the again, he doesn't want any of us in his imagined company.

Same old story, year over year starting in the late 90’s…resulting in continuous rounds of layoffs especially around year end holidays.

Most people font realize its already “over” at XRX.
The senior management has proven their incompetence, sales have cratered, the transformation has failed, cash flow has vaporized. I guess there will be one more try to resurrect it with new management but its really too late.

Xerox has to cut your job in order to show any kind of profit in face of declining revenue. Do what you will with this information.

I think the next big change is showing Stevie the door and calling in the workout team. New CFO is a joke so she fits right in. I have never seen so many unimpressive people so lacking in self awareness. I have not heard a good idea in years.

The X is pretty much done. Losing market to other competitors, losing revenue year after year, sales are no existent and techs are not so happy and over work, the ceo su-k and I surprising he haven’t get booted off for poor performance . I won’t be surprise if there an end of year cuts. Hey Fuji just entering the American market and look like they are hiring techs all around US. Maybe would be better there then here

There will certainly be cuts by the end of the year. If your group is losing money and nobody is interested in buying it, there will be cuts. If you are retirement age and you are ready to hang it up, stick around for the severance. If not, update the resume, start job searching and take the best offer you can find. Even if you survive this next cut, if you are not near retirement, you will eventually have to find a job outside of Xerox.
